Banking limits, floorboard drag

The topic of draggin stuff on a FL sometimes comes up and since there was a cop glide here yesterday I asked the nice officer if I could take pics of his O9 RK on its second set of floor boards for yur viewin pleasure.

Something tells me that bike is (or has been) used in Police Rodeos! I have been to several and the things that those guys can do is Amazing!!

Yep there is just something about a dude that can sling a 900lb bike around like that that screams bad ass. I have seen some pretty amazing riding from MotoCops.

I have a good friend that's a solo officer (motorcycle) here in Houston. He says he's constantly replacing he floor boards do to them dragging. Ive seen these guys make 15" u-turns and circles like its child's play. My department puts on a 40 hour class for officers that what to be solo officers or do escorts and the good thing is its free for offices. I was thinking about taking it but they make you lay your bike over (both sides) and pick it up. I don't have rear saddle bag guards and dont want to scratch them all up (the bags must stay on). Oh yeah, and my 21" front wheel is a no no.

Our department doesn't have departmental bikes. You have to buy your own. The good thing is, if you are in the unit the city compensates you for the price of your bike.

Hehe That really dont sound like a good deal.. Less you was to come across an old Cop glide. that you didnt mind tearin up If I'm any kinda judge the 40 hour class would be a good thing though.

It's not the best deal in the world but at least they pay for the bike you want to get. If I remember correctly they get new bikes every 2 yrs. He just got a new one this week and traded the old one in. He had 84k on the old one (2009)

Oh so the actually buy you a bike ???? and I guess maintnance is on you that int too bad. If you dont go crazy an try scrapin evrywhere like these hotdogs.
