I really think it was a cheap way to plug the hole in the dash, and balance it out. Oil temp sounds like a good upgrade to me.
Worthless P.O.S. (air temp gauge, that is) mine SOMETIMES works, most times in ambient temps over 60 F it just pegs to 120. Next time I take the batwing cover off, I'm puttin' an oil temp gauge in to go with my factory accessory oil cooler. That will give me a better indication of just how hot I'm runnin'.

I guess that also applies to us over 50 old fuggers too?

I'm anal when it comes to proper gauge...In the boat I have had 11 to 13 gauges (two motors) but measured everything!

My Electra Glide Standard did'nt come with the Temp gauge and whatever is on the other side. The holes are there and there's a plastic cap that snaps into the hole to cover it up. I plan on cutting holes in the caps and mounting tweeters in them and then wrapping them with speaker grill cloth.

Waaay less expensive alternative to those tweeter pod kits. Probably sound much better too, good quality automotive tweeters are'nt that expensive either. You guys with the Classics and Ultras could do it too. You would have to remove the gauge on the other side and get the caps. What type of gauge is on the other side anyway?

Piezo tweeters! I sure miss those and what a great idea. I don't know if I would consider it because I want and oil temp gauge....

I have one of these mounted on the rear rockerbox. If I had to choose between pressure and temperature I would go with pressure. Looks cool too!

Pressure and Temperature are both very important. Pressure was one that I always watched....That and temperature since it tells you what happening and if watched regularly, you can prevent blowing a motor. I think I only blew 4 total in my career.....LOL But that's common when you are WOT.
