  • Replacing Enrichener cable.

I can't find any mention of replacing the cable in the Factory
service manual. It give adjustment, but I don't see anything
    for replacement.
Mine has finally given up and I need to replace it. Does anyone
know if the carb has to come off, or does the gas tank need to
come off?? I've heard it only takes about 30 minutes or so to replace
it, so I'm guessing not a whole lot needs to be removed.
Anyyone have any suggestions, or a tuitorial???????
    Regards Sonny

It might actually be easier to pull the carb out some though.

Sonny, you don't have to take the whole carb off, just pull it out far enough to get to the nut on the business end of the cable, remove the nut pull it out and reverse assembly!
Be careful not to get dirt it the hole and don't over tighten!

Sonny one more thing, when you reinstall the cable pull the enricher knob out, it makes it easier to install and be very careful not to cross thread the cap nut, it is plastic.

Thanks guys!!! I think I'm going to the dealer to buy the cable. It's so damn hot here, I don't really feel like working on it.
Thanks for all the tips and info.

And when you tighten it down on the motor mount, don't over tighten it and break the plastic nut.

Thanks everyone! I got the cable for 12.95 plus tax. I ended up taking off some stuff I didn't need to like the whole air cleaner backing plate. I could have just
removed the 2 carb screws and been done.
Got it all back together and she works fine. I've got a lot of adjustment now!!

Crocodille56.........THANKS......I forgot that pull the knob out at first. It was like trying to thread a piece of string through a hole. I remembered
your tip about pulling the cable out, and the valve went right in. It also surprised me about the plastic nut. Hopefully I got it screwed down tight
                    enough.

it started raining about the time I was finishing up so I need to recheck everything. Need to go by the air cleaner backing to carb gasket, I tore the other
one in half removing the backing plate.

                    Thanks again guys.
                    Regards Sonny
