The ignition swith is mounted to the top tree, under the key tumbler and chrome cover. This is a video for removing the "Ignition lock and tumbler."

Great thread. Seen folks pull the ign and have a hard time gettin it back together and in timing where the key switch stayed in.

Here is the home-made and easy way to remove the ignition on a Harley-Davidson. It's a sticky and compliments of CLL375!
