  • To Drill OR Not To Drill

so my tag bracket broke up in kentucky an di made the trip home with it duck taped together...(the left side finally broke too john)......i have a tag mount from a 96 fatboy that i can use but would have to drill 3 holes in my 03 anniversray fender...the broke stainless mount is at the tig welders getting repaired, but im not very confident of it ability to hold since its broke once already......i plan on keeping this bike till i cant ride it anymore, so that side of me says drill the holes and mount a bracket i KNOW wont break..............whatcha think......sorry for the wind

That mount looks good on there, but iffin it were mine, I would have a hard time drilling the fender. do the turnsignals mount right below the tail light?
I'm trying to picture the rear of the bike

The weld will be stronger then the original metal. Don't drill. If anything, look for another one possibly from Kuryakyn, which will be narrower and lighter. I'd put the original back on.

                  PM sent.

Seems like I saw one listed on J&P that was a direct bolt on to where the signal brackets mounts were, just a thought.
