  • Rattling Noise On 09 Road King

This noise is at the rear of the bike. It sounded like the license plate at first but I believe it is the rear light bar. Anybody else have those come loose and cause a noise?

Cant say as I have ever had one of those get lose but anything is possible. You might try a dab of lock tight on the bolts so as to prevent further trouble.

Never thought my tranny end plate bolts would come loose, hehe, If its a HD it can come loose. Thats why hand wipin/washin and feelin yur stuff (as per DAVE63 has suggested so many times) is important.

I went out at lunch and it was loose by a quarter turn on one side only. The ride home will tell the tale.

Must have been the light bar. I never heard it on the ride home.

Just saw this and was gonna say yes it's happened to me but I see it happened to you too!
I had a hell of a squeak that would drive me crazy on my old bike- 98 Road King Classic...oil the side panels where the posts go in, the rubber on the exhaust and the rubber under the saddlebags. That quieted her up. Became a every so often ritual.

I replaced my exhaust mounting rubber bushings back in the winter and used a little oil on them as well, worked like a charm.
