  • The Get Back Whip?

I've seen these around from time to time but don't really understand the concept. So you have a weighted whip you can hang from a lever with a quick release but how in the world would you ever release and use it if you were riding? I can't really see it being of any use without falling over or having to drop it quickly so you can use the brake/clutch. Can someone tell me how these things work? I really have no intention of getting one but the concept mystifies me. Thanks, oh and here's a link just in case

I'm not sure, but I went to the web site and it looks to me to be a decoration that, at one time, was associated with biker clubs. As far as usefulness, I think you use it when parked to beat the chicks off that always gather when on a Harley. As a member of the Herd I have a Cattle Prod hanging from my lever....Glenn

I don't think I have ever seen one myself nor do I really see what you could use that one for other than some sort of decoration.

I've seen them on some Bandidos' bikes.
It's not "derailed", as long as the last post relates to the post above it...it's just on a different rail, heading into a more interesting direction

Could it be utilized as a weapon against close proximity cagers or whacko pedestrians....Any way you slice it is probably useless and only purcased by those wannabee's who think they are bad ass biker types or already are....One thing is for sure they don't have HERD status.... We have too much class for that crap....Sorry I Vented....C

I imagine if you get lead fishing weights and thread them through the individual strands it could be a formindable accessory. When I was a long haired, bearded and tatto hard tail club rider 20 years ago I'd like one then but I think now I'd look foolish beiong on a garbage barge and old and all?

Better to get sap gloves, less conspicuous.

i've seen them before and yes they are mostly used for smacking on cages when they do something you don't like. most the time they will be on the road captians bike in a MC. i rode wit hte HA and red devils and the road captians had them, and were not afraid to us them. they make a hell of a dent on the hood of a toyota car. need less to say the car backed off. what i do know , if a sumbitch smacks my car with one i will run over the sob. i don't give a damn how many friends hes got with him.
Crazy people don't know they're crazy, I know I'm crazy therefore I'm not crazy, isn't that crazy.....

I normally just give them the 1 finger salute right on their window.

These things have been around for years , and I know several guys down in Corpus who used to hang them on their bikes. They did use them too, and with quite effectiveness. Most were hand made to suite the individual, and no tow a like. They have been brought back for some damn reason. Most likely the same reason they sell SOA vests, and other items . Kind of like the Lone Wolf bike club and such. I never have understood the meaning behind them at all. You pay $$ to get a rocker ,beer holder, stickers for your cage, and other mindless crap, and for what? I don't get it. I just wonder some times how many innocent folks get themselves hurt because they bought some stupid shit to make them look cool.

These used to be found on a number of bikes long ago. They were all hand made back in the day to suite the individual. Now , they are being marketed, most likely by the same guy who sells you your Lone Wold rockers, beer coozies, and other mindless crap that will do nothing but get some innocent fuggers ass whipped ,because he thought it looked cool.
