  • 40 MPH Head winds

    Suck :croc

Had to made a 30 mile detour and ride the long way to work this morning and that was all well and good till I got to the bypass which has miles of fields on both sides.

Damn wind was so bad I said F-it and slowed down to 45 so as to enjoy the ride.

and I had to dodge soda cans that were flying out of the bed of some dudes p-up truck :madcow

It is still a good way to start the day though.:moo

The only thing that would have made your ride better, is if those cans were beer cans.....

Like road-kill...than having to come home, get a screwdriver to pry it off the groove of your tires! Best jerky meat ever!

Riding home from work yesterday on the motorway(that is what my TOM TOM calls the interstate) I dodge what looked like a small piece of metal that comes from under a big rig and shortly there after here comes the mud flap that it was holding on the truck. I missed it but the car behind me did not.

That's really not that uncommon in southern Idaho. The high desert is VERY windy. I've learned to dodge tumbleweeds like a pro! I don't mind the head/tailwinds. It's the crosswinds that suck...

I left the bike at home instead of riding it to work yesterday because of the wind and amount of debris falling from trees and just being blown around the streets.

We have some hellacious winds on Whidby Island. I don't mind the winds until tree limbs start flying around! Don't like getting the Road King sand blasted either.

I do see the lighter weight rice rockets getting pushed around a lot. I've never ridden one; it must be worse perched up high like that.
