  • Canadian Riding Experience

Being Canadian, just wondering how many of our American (or other countries) riding friends have done any riding in Canada. Where did you ride? What were your impressions of Canada? How was your experience? Or, if you haven't crossed the 49th yet, any future plans to do so? Looking forward to reading your posts!

Hey Gal...I have ridden all the way across Canada from Niagara Falls to Prince Rupert. Did this on the way to Alaska the first time and it was totally Awesome!!! We got on the fairy system in Prince Rupert and rode that to Haines Alaska and then rode the rest of the way in to Anchorage. The whole trip took about 15 days and covered about 6k miles. Canada is a beautiful country and I have spent a lot of time there in my life, been to every Province at one time or another.

I have been across Canada numerous times in a car, but haven't ridden in Canada. That is on my list of rides to be done sometime though!

It's great to hear of your experiences! Have either of you been up in my neck of the woods - Fort McMurray (northern Alberta)?

Sounds like a beautiful ride you had. I've been from the West Coast to the East Coast and into Labrador - all in vehicles (like you Taz!). My hubby and I are planning to ride on our next trip to Labrador, and we're really looking forward to that trip. Just need to find someone to look after our dogs and cats for about 5 weeks. Hopefully we can do this next summer. This summer we hope to do some Alberta/Rockies and maybe BC riding - and yes, Cindy, we'll definitely give you a call if we're in your neck of the woods. I haven't been up to Alaska, but my dad was up there and loved it. One day perhaps....

I lived in Mississagua, On in '03-'04(13 months), I left my bikes behind as I was unsure of the length of my work related stay... Traveled all over Ontario and Quebec by cage, and several years later when I took a job(short lived) driving on 18 wheels I got to visit BC... Beautiful country and very friendly people with the exception of Montreal... I have lived coast to coast in my years and other than Texas where I grew up, I made more REAL friends in Ontario than in any of the other nine States in which I have lived... I will one day ride coast to coast across Canada...

If I ever make it near you, I'll definitely get in touch! I have only been across Canada via the ALCAN, from Beaver Creek on the Alaska end to Sweetgrass on the Montana end, but I know there is much more of Canada to see than that. I've got my passport, so someday!

Like Cindy, if anyone is up in my neck of the woods, call us. We'd love to be able to meet some of the Herd, in person.

Hey Buck! That's awesome that you spent time living in Canada! I was born in Ontario (northern) and have many relatives who still live there. I've only been to the States a couple of times, but each time, I've met some really nice people. I'm sure I'll cross the border again at some point. Although, my first order of business is some riding in Canada. I want to experience it on two wheels.

Northern being North Bay or further ?... To be honset with you, had I been able to pull it off, I would have immigrated... Sadly, my contract expired before I could set the wheels in motion...
