  • Well, So far..........

I got my bike back yesterday. It seems that the leak wasn't comming from the transmission shaft after all. The leak it seems was comming from the Speed sensor. I have a feeling that was where it's been all along, and the one that actually ruined the starter instead of the starter O ring.
They put a new Speed sensor and o ring in and took it for a test ride and it started leaking again. They called Harley tech, and was on there for about 30 minutes going over what they'd done, and what they'd checked. Then all of a sudden another tech came up behind the tech
that my guy was talking too. He heard the conversation and said, " oh yeah, we've had problems with that, tell him to put 2 o rings on the sensor and that should do it. Well my tech did it and took it for a test
ride and said it stayed bone dry. I've ridden it about 70 miles so far and it's still dry as a bone. Hopefully that was it. they told me if it starts again, that Harley tech said they'd probably have to put some dye in the oil to see if it was a porus case. Hopefully it was just the o ring
and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I can't give them enough praise, they've really hung in there, and made it a group effort to get it fixed.
Just wanted to report back in and let everyone know with this update.

Oh yeah, one of my best friends liked my bike so much that he went out and bought a left over 2010 Super Glide Standard yesterday..........Now he's in "HOG" Heaven too...............
    Regards Sonny

Well then tell Him to get into the pasture with the rest of the HERD.LOL
Good to read that it is fixed and dry,I would think H.D. would come out with a "fixed"speed sensor that would require only one O ringydingy.

Yeah, I don't what the deal is with the two o rings. The dealer even before talking to Harley tech and tried a new Speed sensor and another new o ring. It still
leaked. But with the 2 o rings it seems sto have sealed. I don't know if it's something to do with the sensor design, or what, but yeah, that's pretty bogus.
Thanks again all.........I'll keep watching it but so far........Perfection.
