Saw this little rod today in Allentown City, chained to a parking meter. Parking Gestapos were out in force and started to write the guy a ticket. Asked him to cut the guy a break, but he wouldn't hear it.... just kept writing. "Shouldn't be on the sidewalk!"
My response: "Neither should half the people walking to the courthouse, but they are...."
Frame numbers have "58" at end (???) and engine had "XLC65*****" stamped in it.
Bates solo seat, and if you look, it's a KD headlight (Or bates less sticker) turned upside down, and mounted in a sporty brow.
Magneto engine with tons of spilled oil, (keeps rust away) drum brakes and huge cool factor, but it was all there and obviously drove there.
Keep in mind, that number on the frame is a manufacture's part number, NOT a VIN. VINs weren't on the frame until 1970. 1958 to 67 or 68 were all the same part number.
