  • 2010 CrossBones Question

I am buying a 2010 crossbones, and was wondering if any of you who own one, could tell me the widest measurement of the bike? I am trying to see if it will fit through the side door of the house and into the utility room, if it won't I am going to have some one widen it, before I get back home, so it will fit. Do not want it left sitting outside in the winter weather. This seems to be the fastest and easiest option for a quick fix until after the winter weather and all passes so a garage or something can be built to house the new bike.

KG, you are a man with his priorities in the right order. Get the bike and widen the door before you can build the garage.... You're my hero!!!

Don't see any sense buying a new bike, and then let it sit in a snow storm or worse. Be like throwing away money. LOL Figured since the Mrs's brought up the idea about parking it this room, she could live with me following through..

If you don't have the room have the dealer throw in winter storage for free. I think doorgunnerjgs did that when he bought his new dyna.

I like this idea also, but then I couldn't ride when I home, and freeze everything off, like a damned fool. :ouch ... BUT I promise you it will get rode as long as there not ICE on the roads.

Thanks Boss, for the assist, and making the phone call. I was talking to the Mrs's a few ago, and mentioned I was takening her up on her offer about the Utility room, she laughed and asked if her new 1200 Low will look ok sitting next to the Xbones. Yes I was a retard I asked what 1200 Low, I was politly informed that is what she wants, so I have to stick to my deal to teach her how to drive not just ride 2up this spring. I knew she wanted one but I thought it would pass LOL. Guess not, guess I will soon have 2 bikes parked at the house. I suppose this is where you tell me it is like a can of pringles, once you start you can not stop?? :laughout

Hope you don't have steps either. If you do, don't use what I use as a ramp....(10'' by 8' piece of lumber)

The handlebars should be the only difficult part, and you can always unmount them long enough to get through the door as long as you support the brake line.

the widest point is the bars ill go re-check the measurement but im sure it 33 inches..back in a minute

im back ok i was wrong the bars are 36 inches wide ,but when you measure from outside of levers it almost 39 inches
you can turn you bars to get them through a dorrway i have done it
other than the bars the widest point is the floorboards and when folded up the bike is 28 inches wide
                            hope that helps

Ya there is 2 steps, I was figuring a nice 25Mph and the steps wouldn't matter anyways LOL...

No but really, there is two steps 7inches tall each (Bricks). I was going to have to install a ramp of some kind, already had that built into my plans :-) ...
