I stopped by the dealership where I took the Rider's Edge (MSF) class last year and dropped in the classroom where they were wrapping up. The instructor that I had was there and they LOVE to have former students show up and do a quick talk. When he introduced me, he said "This is the guy that I told you about that dumped the bike when taking the state test on the Buell." Turns out he tells his class about me because I'm the only one who has put the bike down and then come back on his own bike and ace the test.
I hated the clutch and brake on the Buell. Both were way too touchy for my not so delicate hands. When I did the weave portion, I missed the last cone, got pi$$ed off and hit the gas too hard when making the turn. Then proceeded to hit the brake too much and laid that puppy down. Automatic fail.
I practiced for the two weeks before the next test on my Sporty. On the day of the test, they asked if anyone had to leave quickly to go to work and then when no one answered, asked for volunteer to go first. I thought that was a great idea and proceeded to ace the test with no points deducted!
Probably the highlight of my brief riding career.
