  • Mercedes are sensative....

Just have to post this. I know there's a lot of crap going on with HERD folk and believe me I feel for all of you and my thoughts are with you (croc and classy, gruss, BrianS's son Wyatt, and all you other HERD folk having problems)but I had to post this.

Regular day at work and stayed longer than I wanted for a Friday night but I hopped on my bike and fired her up. Two piss-ant dentists had their Mercedes parked next to each other and all of a sudden (with a little throttle added) both of them start "sounding the alarm" and the respective owners come running out to check on thier baby's. I got that little smile that Gruss was talking about a few months back and headed for home.

All in all; a great feeling being on a Harley Davidson on a Friday night..................

(sorry about my bad spelling, been drinking for a while tonight....)

Pretty funny. Maybe that's why I don't drive one. Well that and the money....

ya know they get all pissed off and blame the Harleys. It pisses me off when I read about an article for quieting the bikes down but the bigger problem is the damn alarms that are too sensative. I do this for a living guys a harley should not set off an alarm no matter how loud it is!. install and adjust your daamn alarm properly. if they pass the noise law for bikes i'm gonna file petition to have cars that the alarm goes off more than once a month towed. I have four car alarms in my house hld I can start my bike up next to any of em and they do not sound off..... sorry just a rant. you go Gee!

I was able to set alarms off with my boat when I fired it up in a marina...The Street Glide does the same thing. I'm with Streety on this one...People should adjust it so that it's not that sensitive.

I set one off outside a dry cleaners a while back, and my bike is just not that loud.

my dad had an alarm on his Trans AM...Alpine alarm (he worked for Alpine).

Car was parked at work. Alarm set. His secretary parks next to him, gets out of the car and closes the door. She quickly realizes that she has locked her keys in her car. She yells, SHxT!

Dad's alarm went off....scared the crap out of his secretary
