  • Bikes on Sale at Sound HD

Well, went to Sound HD today hopin' to find a 2010 RKC with ABS. They had two black ones, but neither were on sale! They had everything except Road King Classics and Limiteds on sale for as much as $2000 off getting ready for the 2011s! Damn it, I'll just have to be patient!

Saw a lot of sweet privately owned rides there (see pics.) The Screaming Eagle V-rods are for you V. The black bike reminds me of someone's bike....?

They had a live band (loud and mediocre) and lots of food!

    Maybe next week!

RR nothing wrong with used bikes. I bought 2 used low miliage Ultras for the price of a new one. My '98 only had 2172 miles(ten years old when I bought it) and the '01 had 10,000miles(8 years old when I bought it).

I was at my local dealership the other day lookin' at Ultra Classics.

They had a used 2008 with 1900 miles on it, practically new (blue) and were asking ~$19K for it.

A new 2010 black with all the trimmins' was ~$22K (only $3K more than the used bike).

I offered them $15K for the used bike (not that I have the $15K!!) to see where the conversation would go....the conversation died. They were not interested at all in my offer. They basically wanted the $19K for the used bike. I told them I think they are nuts and that I would just pay the extra $3K for a new bike exactly the way I want it....and not ridden by someone else that was probably upset he had to give it back with 1900 miles on it!!!!

          oh well....

Not sure how it is in your state and with full dresser, but in Ohio and a RKC, I bought an '09 in November and did not have cats to deal with on it, whereas the '10 models had them.

I could be wrong but I thought all the '10 models had the CAT's on them as was mandated by the EPA, is that a correct statement?

That is what I understood also. From the reading I've done it makes it more difficult to get more sound out of slip-ons and complicates changing headers, but I could be talking out my arse. Maybe someone that's upgraded a '10 can offer an experienced opinion.

BI, I'd consider used if I could find what I want.

With used bikes go private sales like Craigs list and such. Stay a way frm the dealership on used bikes. They asked to much.

What are ya looking for? I'll keep my eyes open I have a few locations up my sleeve. Might have to take a rode trip.
