We lost 5 fellow riders on sunday evening in a horrible accident in Manheim, PA. This has been all over the news as the authorities have no idea how the accident happened. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the lost riders and to the young lady who is fighting for her life! http://www.wgal.com/slideshow/news/24065933/detail.html

Thanks for posting that, now I'm thinking no more bike for the wife and daughter. I would never be able to live with myself if something happend to them and I lived. Gonna have to rethink my position on riding myself.HERD Member #114

It looks like the taxi was hit on both sides. It does not look like the riders rear-ended the taxi. I didn't see a side street or intersection in the photos either.Jeff

Tragic and very sad! Condolence to the families. There are comments under the article itself and I began to read them. Several about not riding staggered formation to no helmet and yes helmet and that the driver of the van had a heart-attack. Still a lot of speculations with this incident..
