Before I forget, I wanted to publicly thank the guys at Big Moose Harley. Back story: During my trip...as we were heading from Littleton N.H. on to Bar Harbor I noticed that I had lost my cruise control. At the next light I mentioned it to one of the other guys riding with us and he said he just noticed I had no brake lights (same fuse). Tried to narrow it down, wasn't a bad run/flash unit from Kuryakyn...wasn't a bad brake light...wasn't a broken harness under the rear fender (loaded down bike and some crappy roads, I thought maybe I bottomed out).
I thought I'd just live with it til I got home but we had already planned a stop at Big Moose on the way from Bar Harbor to Londendery New Hampshire. I pulled up by the service area and the service manager Trevor Dixon came out and I explained everything I had already done. Within 20 minutes he had my bike in a service bay and Scott had the fairing off. They had it narrowed down to a section of the wire harness that led from under the radio out and up to the right control switch housing. Scott found a crimped wire that was causing the short that would blow the fuse. About an hour and a half after pulling in I had a repaired and washed bike and it would be covered under the extended warranty but with the $50 deductible it was a wash at $53.60 for the total repair bill.
I know that this is exactly how it's SUPPOSED to work out there but I hear the stories when there are problems...Hats off to the service guys at Big Moose
