  • I think I.....

Yesterday I took the wife for a ride and we went onto crusher road which is near one of the rock quarries around here and in the twisties I hear this scape! well as it turns out I leaned it over far enough to scape the jiffy stand. Boy what a RUSH it was though! I think I found the limit of how far I can lean her over in a tight twisty marked 15 doing about 45.

Scraping the hard parts means you have leaned the bike over so far that it doesn't have any more lean in reserve.

When I took the Lee Parks Total Control Advanced Riders Clinic last year (on the FJR), I scraped a peg for the first time on that bike. I pulled up to the instructor and grinned.

                      He asked, "What happened?"

I smiled and said, "I scraped a peg!"

His response: "Yep. What'd you do wrong?"

My internal voice said, "Oh, crap..."

                      Lesson learned.

I have my hwy pegs very low on my crash bars due to my height, so they scrape often. It always scares my wife.......and that makes me smile. LOL.

Thats cool...but check the stand and make sure the spring etc is still good! When it starts to go it makes the stand hang lower, maybe you have already done this? I actually lost the stand on a bike, had to spend the weekend propping it up next to trees and things, was a pita!!!!
