  • Good times...

Well, each year my city hosts the nation’s largest truck and tractor pull. This event literally brings in thousands and thousands of people from all over the world and all walks of life. We usually have some very interesting calls/contacts over this weekend and it appears this year didn’t disappoint. I spoke with one of my shifts Patrol Officers and he told me about his contact with the Black Pistons MC members.

Saturday night 15 members, and 4 ole’ ladies, of the BP MC rolled in to enjoy some cold refreshments. There is a 2.5 block area of my city that is basically lined with different bars/clubs. We routinely have Officers on foot patrol to handle the bar crowd and this weekend was no exception. Our downtown bar district has a very broad range of….well….people.

The first contact was when the group came into the city and parked. One of their bikes had a headlamp that was burnt out and the Officer contacted them to make them aware. As with the majority of our contacts with OMGs, the BP MC was decent and respectful.
The group of BP MC members were walking down the sidewalk to another bar. As they walked a male and female subject (Boyfriend and girlfriend) walked between their group and this apparently is a big NO-GO, understanding that there are hundreds of people in these 2.5 blocks. One of the BP MC members called the lady a c*nt and added some other flowery distasteful words; nothing was said to the male…initially. Well as one would expect the male didn’t take too kindly to having his lady friend talked to like that and turned around to confront the member that said it.

As with any gang/group/club/association/organization etc., if you mess with one, you mess with them all and this situation became a largely one-sided ‘disagreement.’ The male subject was quickly surrounded by at least 5 of the MC members…and this mess was deteriorating awfully fast.

The Officers on foot patrol saw this unfolding and quickly and appropriately were able to diffuse the situation without anyone losing teeth, or worse, and going to jail (Win – Win). ;)

The only reason I thought to share this was because I had never heard of the Black Pistons MC and apparently they are an official support club for the Outlaws. We usually get OMGs traveling through my city but I’ve honestly never heard of this club. Learn sumfin’ everyday. =D

black pistons have been outlaw club affiliates for years, just as the red devils, rebel rousers, devil dogs and a few others are hells angel affiliates. affiliate clubs don't carry as much clout as main clubs but still have the same rules. i'd be willing to bet the ones that actually started the trouble wasn't wearing a full back patch , just the rocker on the bottom of the vest. those are what you call prospects, there doing the dirty work for the patches. after enough dirty work you get your full patch. dirty work doesn't always mean illegal activity either. it consist of accompanying patches on outings, watching over ranking officers, going to the store for the patches , cleaning the clubhouse etc, etc. also a no no to take picture without asking.
i'm very good friends with most of the Red Devil MC in high point and get certain club privileges and protection, if needed or asked for but not with out a cost. i make sure the RDMC and HAMC in the area have plenty of full throttle magazines at the club houses and i cover the events for them and make sure they make it to print.
Crazy people don't know they're crazy, I know I'm crazy therefore I'm not crazy, isn't that crazy.....

Roger that Worm. I understand the different roles within the clubs but unfortunately I wasn't there to see if they were dealing with a patched member or a prospect. We really don't have many problems from these clubs and historically they do as asked and carry-on through the city. I try to stay on top of the different clubs and I was just surprised that I hadn't heard of this club being they've been around for a long time.
