In TX I believe it is law.It's not "derailed", as long as the last post relates to the post above it...it's just on a different rail, heading into a more interesting direction -

mine was on the wrong side( i moved the tag beneath the tail light, but the clear part of the lens was still on top) a cop in the parkin lot of a local restaurant noticed and suggested i get it fixed....ive since got the lay down lens with the tag light on bottom....he was cool about it, but couldnt guarantee some other LEO would beTwenty First Herdster
