  • Gel Material

    ive been lookin around on the net for Gel seat material. there is plenty of it out there, but everything i find is already sewn in the seat. i got an upholsterer that will take my saddle and sew it in if i can find a piece of it...anybody got a lead on a seller or distributer that i can buy some? maybe a 18" square cell shaped

            let me do some looking, a guy on another bike forum built his own seat and used some gel type material he was able to buy in sheet form adn cut to fit. I'll try to find the info on it and post it here.

            have you ever had a gel seat? I have heard alot of horror stories about them, basicly when the bike sits out in the sun, it collects and holds heat and when you plant your rear on the seat, it is super hot, adn takes forever to cool back down

            but that is just from hear-say, I have never had one myself

                Toor have you checked out Mean City Cycles? I hear they do excellent work and are in NC but they use memory foam if I remember correctly. Their web site is: http://www.meancitycycles.com/

                    Saddlemen sells raw pads... I'm considering the same thing, my neighbor can inlet some into my stock seat...
