  • Bike insurance $$$$$$$

So i get this call from my bike insurance broker lady, she says "hi Craig" and identifies herself,(i already know this is gunna hurt)she says "I'm sorry to tell you that your renewal rate will increase this year"i'm thinking WTF ? 20 + years experience no accidents {knocking on wood}no convitions what so ever or claims for that matter.

    So i ask "how much"?

she says "last year you paid $913.00 (all incl.)and the ins. co. (Elite)is increasing all bike policies ,your new premium will be 1624.10"

    a difference of $711.00 !!
So naturally i asked "what's your fax no. so i can send you my cancellation"?

I got an instant quote with Riders plus all inclusive $942.00.(which is covered by Echelon General ins. co.)

Just thought i'd share this scandal with ya's,apparently the crotch rockets are causing some rate increases for us cruiser guys. according to the nice lady at Mantha,my ex-insurance broker.

The new ins. co. doesn't lump all bikes together. They know the difference.

Still an increase, but not as painfull, especially without being kissed or anything first !!:vgirl

My policy is in the $800 range annually. But includes uninsured, towing and a bunch of other stuff that I hope I never have to use!

Good one on ya Craig!!! Glad you were able to change quickly.

Mine went down, I was paying about 750 a year, now I'm paying about 690 full coverage.
It's not "derailed", as long as the last post relates to the post above it...it's just on a different rail, heading into a more interesting direction

Yep, they blame it on a high increase of claims last year, mostly sport bikes..
Keep in mind,on average we can only ride 6 months of the year here.:vgirl

                        But that's full replacement cost.

Maybe we can get Progressive to sponsor our site and then we might be able to get a better rate.......wait, we've done that already, sorry.........

Think I'm paying around $250 with Progressive.
