  • Slip ons...

Ok guys, I got what I would consider a screaming deal on a set of BUB Brouhard slip-on mufflers this weekend, and am expecting them to arrive Thursday....

I'm relatively wrench handy but hadn't had much motorcycle wrenching time because *hanging my head in shame* all my other bikes have been uhhhhh metric, and never needed much other than an oil change...

I know this can't be too difficult a task, but my concerns are if I'm gonna need anything else done besides pulling the stock ones off and sliding the new ones on ?...

    Please advise...

Thanks Toor, they can be mounted slash up or down... I'll be mounting it down, then I'll have no worries while I'm enjoyin' Cracker Barrel !...

Make sure you use a good High Temp Exhaust sealant (Ultra Copper) and coat the inside of the muffler flange before you slide it onto the headpipe. Also, basic information but tighten the clamp real good and let it sit overnight in dry clomate.

Welp, the pipes arrived a few minutes ago, so I'm off to the parts store for the exhaust sealant...Afterwards I tackle the UltraCool oil cooler project... I'm hoping calling into work absent today will result in tasks completed successfully, but as my luck goes, when I start a project there is usually something comes up and mucks up my day...

WOOOOOT ! ! !...She sounds like a Harley now ! ! !... Nice rumble at idle, and not too loud but loud enuff to let cagers know I'm coming... Stock sounded like, and I quote I know not who on this forum "like a wet fart"... I'm very, very pleased with the results on this expense !...

I tried to upload some pics but they were too large...I'll work on that later..

                  Now the UltraCool...

Anytime you change the stock exhaust you will hear an amazing result.

Buck, after you ride and get those good and hot a couple of times, be sure to re-torque your clamps to book spec, probably ~45 ftlbs.
