  • Ride, wrench, repeat

I finally got the jugs off of my Fatboy to replace the base gaskets. Really didn't find any suprises, just a little wear in the cyls. Time for a hone and rings I guess. The only thing that did catch my eye, was some pitting on the rockers and valves where they ride on each other. I really don't know what to think about this, I have never seen anything like that before. Makes me wonder if the prior builder had the pushrods adjusted wrong.

Just a trick an old race car man told Me,it works very well, use a rigid hone and wrap it with some grey Scotchbrite to hone them cylinders with.
I have tried chrome rings and could never get them to seat,at least on Harley engines.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do yet. I was looking into a big bore kit, but without boring my case, that's not going to happen.
