just checked the coil and I've got a different reading on each side which I don't think is right.

my coil has 3 terminals on the front and the two plugs connections on the back.

reading from all three on the front to the left side back plug wire terminal reads 10.9 ohms of resistance

reading from all three on the front to the right side back plug wire terminal reads 30.9 ohms of resistance

I would think they should read the same.

I ordered a coil today and get it thursday and I'm crossing my fingers.

I checked the ground wire and tried to jiggle every wire on the bike with it running and after riding for 10 miles and nothing.Checked to coil after that 10 miles to and I was getting a different reading.

went on another 20 mile ride and as I was coming back home and only a couple of miles from home it starting missing.Thats when I got the last reading I mentioned above.

yep and my guess is that it's getting worse as time goes on which sounds about right.I'll know thursday night about 8pm if it's the problem.

no not yet but if Dave has them I'll be picking them up thursday also.

and if he does have them they go on the bike after I determine if the coil is bad.

IF,It wuz Me,I would try the plug wires first,If plug wires goes bad they can creat a high resistance whitch in turn creates heat from where the source of the spark may be{coil}.

Just my 2 cents, and that's about it's worth, but I had problems with my girl cutting out, "farting" as I put it, and found out my plug wires were up against the jugs and causing sparking, got them off and she runs great, but like I said, I'm by no means as smart as any of you are, just wanted to throw that in, hope I'm not being out of line...

A spare coil is a good thing to have even if it is a faulty old one,You just never know, that faulty one might just be the ticket to get Yuh home if the new one fails.
A person just ca`nt have enough spare parts,My problem is I got so many spare parts I no longer know which ones is good or which ones is faulty.ed:fall
