  • Visor Rain Repellent?

Wife bought me a new 1/2 helmet for Christmas. It's a Harley with the built-in pull down shield. Does anyone recommend a rain repellent to use on the shield? RainX says it's not for plastic.

Good deal. I read the Geek's review and ordered a bottle myself for my windshield. Works great and for me it also made the bugs come off really easily. I've got new glasses that I'll apply it to also come spring time.

I have used the individual application packets and the spray-on bottle. All in all I think I prefer the individual application packets, but that's just me. It's good stuff either way you apply it.

I use Bug Slide. Carry a small spray bottle in my lower glove box to wipe everything down after a ride.

Left lower glove box has cords for headsets and clear glasses for at night. Right glove box has small bottle of Bug Slide and microfiber cloth and can cozies. Center windshield bag has small tube of sunscreen, a pen, insurance card and garage door opener. Right windshield bag has ear plugs. That's about it. Actually no gloves in the glove boxes.

same here now! but I do have the RG glove boxes now, have a microfiber towel in the left one to keep gas off my tank when I fill up and my pike pass, the right one has my ipod and night glasses.

as far as rain repellent goes, I use ShineTime all in one cleaner. the more you use on the bike the better it works. the windshield repels water just fine with it and now I've used it on my visor a couple of times on the full face but haven't ridden in rain since I've used it on the helmet.
