First long trip of the year

It was a beautiful day yesterday, so I decided to take a ride to Anchorage and back. Was a little chilly in spots, but all in all a beautiful day of riding. Even got to ride with 41bigdawg for a bit. The picture is the top of Turnagain Pass, I think the elevation is around 4800 ft. Still a bit of snow up there!

Gorgeous scenery, taz! I hear you have some of the most spectacular scenery up your way. I'm jealous... we had snow (but it's mostly melted now). This week is supposed to be nice, so hopefully I'll get some riding in. Although, I want to take my bike in so I can get my saddlebags installed and that will tie my bike up for a couple of days.

Yeah, pretty neat to be riding on dry roads, yet be surrounded by snow! The snow is mostly gone down low, but the ride from my town to Anchorage goes through the mountains, and there is still a lot of snow there! Got my 1000 mile service done, so no more shop time till the next one! Ride, ride, ride. Might add some things I can do at home, but now that the weather is turning, no big projects that will keep it in the shop!
