  • Twistie hunting

Me and a bud are heading to NC in the morning to hunt the wild twisties. We were planning to leave today but that fell through so tomorrow it is! We hope to bring home a couple twistie trophys and maybe the stray switchback or two.

I'm not concerned about the possibility of a crease in the seat or stains in the drawers, in fact we consider both a trophy in their own right.

        Thanks jirvin!

Oh hell yes Boss. We specifically hunt back roads with hills, twisties, etc. There's a couple we've been on before that we plan to hit again and some new ones I found. Of course we are lousy at sticking to a plan so we never know where we'll end up or what we'll find. Makes it that much better. And when we want to chill we hit the Parkway for awhile.

Get moving and come on. We should end up in the Maggie Valley area tomorrow night. After that all bets are off.

Nailed it with that. One of the reasons we plan and don't plan. We're never against..."hey that looks cool let's go left". Another rule we discovered is if Google maps shows it as twisty...believe it!!!

My only problem and it's not a problem, just reality. I have a Heritage....he rides a 1981 CBX...sometimes he has to stop or slow down and wait. OK......all the time unless he's in cruise mode. LOL

Last September we were on a kick ass new road and I was working my ass off keeping up. We went into a really tight double and I dragged to the point he turned to look even with a full-face and being 100 or more feet in front of me. When we stopped he said he knew I either went down or took a quarter inch off the right board. I think the quarter inch was a little exaggerated. 3/16ths max....LMAO. I stained my drawers on that one!!!

Do you ride with a GPS so that you can see what's up ahead?

Nope...we just go that way and sooner or later we figure out where we are. Sometime after lunch we start planning a location so we can find a hotel. There have been times when we plan a specific route but even then it's subject to change.
