  • A Weekender

Just to set this up a little. My wife joined a "shopping show" on the radio and they have discounts for just about everything including hotels. I told her to look for someplace we could ride to. They had an overnight stay at a comfort inn in Fulton Il. So I mappd out a route to take us into Dubuque Iowa where we would stop at the county fair that was gong on an then head south riding alng the Mississippi River to Clinton Iowa and across the river to Fulton, Il. We left home at about 10:30 or so and headed west, i mapped most of the trip on scenic routes, here are a few pics.
    Off we went

Fun trip, about 400 miles, no rain, no break downs and always an adventure.

Looks like a fun ride. You were smart not to jump it, you never know how stable the other side is.
