  • Ride to the Wall Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday Morning)

Saturday, May 29, 2010 - A ride to the 3/4 size, Vietnam Memorial Wall in Northbrook. This is sponsored by the American Legion post in Fox Lake, IL and will start there. Some info is available at Ride to the Wall at motorcycle monster.com

I received further info from an American Legion guy:
You can join the ride at any of the three starting points. Registration will begin about 0800 on Saturday 29 May at all three locations. We are hoping to go Kick stands up in Fox Lake no later than 9:30. Pass through Wauconda with rolling pick up about 30 minutes later with last rolling pick up at Wheeling AMVETS about 30-45 minutes later. For best line up I would suggest Fox Lake Post and make the full ride.

There is no cost for this ride. We will have wrist bands for sale and flags to leave at the memorial. There will be water provided at the memorial for those that ride with us. ALL participants, riders, passengers, even car and buss passengers, must fill out a participation waiver form. I have attached a copy of the form for you. Please print, fill out and sign, and drop at the registration desk on Saturday morning. Again, one person per waiver form.

Hope you have a great time riding with us. We anticipate good weather and a great ride.

Please send all response to [email protected] or [email protected]
If you want the waiver form, send me a PM and I'll forward it to you otherwise they will probably have some at the three join up locations.

I'll be riding out of the Americal Legion, Slatington, PA post sunday morning with a few other bikes, for a County wide ride with Police escort, to various other American Legions, in rememberence of soldiers fallen.

sounds like a good time for a great cause, in remembrance.

we get nothing like that around here.

the American legion post that I belong to talked about putting together something like that, but nothing ever came of it

Hope your ride is as great as the one I went on today. This was a very small one compared to yours. Got back from the Ride to the Wall a couple of hours ago (and then had to go for some blood work at our local hospital). It was a GREAT ride with perfect weather, about 150 bikes, and a police escort all the way there. This is only the second group ride I've done and if they are all this great, I'll definitely do more of them. Total of about 85 miles with the trip to Fox Lake, then to Northbrook, and then back home.
