Ok, looks like I might become a transplant to the state of Ga in a few months. Gonna be getting tranfered to a plant in West Point, Ga. I am not sure where we will live yet but are looking in the La Grange area right now.

Are you going to the new Kia plant?
I was born in Columbus and grew up in that area. There's some nice riding up there; I recently did a benefit ride to Warm Springs up that way.
Let me know if you need any help with anything.

There is (was?) a Johnson Controls plant about 15 miles from here that supplies parts to Honda.

any thoughts on a "central location" for us to meet and grab a beer and some food?

Sounds great! Well, you're near Atlanta, blacksheep is in Savannah, I'm not sure where wndchaser is, and I'm about 40 minutes from I - 75, exit 99 @ Cordele.

Macon sounds central to me, and there's several places there we could meet. Just a thought...what do you suggest?

Got a couple of rallies down this way in September - the Bainbridge Bike Fest and the Angel City Fall Rally. What about up your way?

I'm all for riding south and meeting up....if there is a rally to attend, even better.

My wife and kids are leaving Sept 18th for a week...so Sept 19th would be ideal for me (although I see it as a day trip and can really do it almost any weekend)

How is the 19th for y'all?

We were talking about going to this:

You could either ride halfway, spend the night somewhere and meet us to ride to the rally (didn't know if you'd want to spend Friday night with us since we haven't met yet)for the day.

Or we could do something else...

That is 170 miles for me straight down I-85 which is about pushing it for a one day trip but it is doable though if thats what everyone wants to do.

If Bainbridge is too far for you North GA folks, I can look for something around Macon; let me see if there is anything going on around there that weekend.

I think some kind of rally would be fun though. This rally is the next week, and it's about 45 minutes from Macon:

But it may not be a good date for some of you; PM me if you have another idea.
