well after spending many many hours stripping the paint from the shovelhead frame that I am painting for some folks, I have it in the booth now waiting for the etch to cure so I can prime it.
and as I walk out of the booth, I see my ironhead sitting there all lonely, so I finally got back to work on it.
I had the frame sandblasted to remove the paint, and it left it feeling like 120 grit sandpaper. so I have spent the last 2 hours or so with a brass wire wheel in my grinder smoothing it out again.
I know I said I was going to do the whole thing the "old fassion" way, and not use power tools, but screw it :)
I also used a flapwheel on the grinder and smoothed out some casting seams, and areas where the welds were built up really high and ugly.
can't wait to get a job so I can get back on this thing
