I remember this guy coming to the local Muncie drag strip in the late 1960's but never saw him run. At the time, it was the Bloody Mary #4.

He renamed the bikes The Widowmaker and I found a pic of Widowmaker #7.

Wiki tells me that Mr. Potter passed away age 71 in 2014, so these crude monsters didn't do him in. I wonder what he thought of the Boss Hoss bikes.

Dang, I bet that seat is only good for a quarter mile! Har!. Dave, very cool, you make the best posts. Thanks!

The last few Sundays have been a revival of our Bloody Mary Sundays, relaxing with Bloody Marys with some Frank, Dean and Tony on the sound machine.

Mark, these pic's popped up on The Selvidge Yard blog I follow, and I remembered the local buzz in the newspaper at the dragstrip. My memory is faulty but I seem to remember reading a small article in one of my brothers' Hot Rod mags.

I searched for it, couldn't find it, but here's a nice piece in Hagerty. I don't watch many American Pickers shows, but this episode might be nice to watch...

I`m not a fan of the pickers but that is a great read.

Dave I somewhat forgot about this place and website, the link is somewhere in my favorites. You just decided my ride this weekend...ride up to Stroudsburg, PA, hop on rt 611 and follow along the Delaware to lower Easton, PA, hop on rt 32, again along the river to New Hope, PA. The river views are fantastic, the small town historic. New Hope is a artsy-fartsy place of shops and bars, but a draw for bikers day rides from all over eastern PA and NJ. We usually do it once or twice a year, but yet this year. About a 250 mike loop. The Selvedge Yard has/had a brick and mortar storefront there.

Edit - I was just over on the HersdStock thread and got reminded of the virus...Philly and Pittsburgh are on the fast track for their 2nd round of Covid. New Hope is a burb of Philly, heading down that way might be such a good idea....

I’m not sure I want to think about such an image for long lol, but every sport bike I’ve ever had a chance to ride brought an ear to ear grin to me! It’s crazy how fast and maneuverable those 400 lb beasts with all that available HP are. Kinda like Jet Skis or Snowmobiles, just pure motorized fun!
Of course there’s different tools For different jobs and I sure wouldn’t want to ride one cross country, although a buddy of mine still does that on his Kawi GPZ 1000...don’t know how the hell he can stand it, but he never complains at all, and is always ready to rip when he gets to his destinations lol!
