  • Volunteer to Support PO2 Anthony Thompson

Mrs. Boss and I will be gone most of the day as she signed us up to an organization named "Home for our Troop". (Building Specially Adapted Homes for Our Severely Injured Veterans)

We will do our part to help our TROOPS!!! This is who we will be helping out today!

Naval Petty Officer Anthony Thompson was on his second deployment to Iraq with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines Fox Company 3rd Platoon near Fallujah, when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive under an overpass where Thompson and his Marines had taken up post on April 20, 2007. During recovery efforts Anthony was found unresponsive on a pile of concrete rubble.

Home for our troops is a great organization! Boss you will be impressed by the sheer number of volunteers that will come out to help PO Thompson. It's a great thing and shows the Patriotic nature of Americans at their best.

It's close to where CLL375 lives so it must be a very nice place they have for Naval Petty Officer!

Thanks guys and thanks UNI for the scope of the organization. Makes it even better knowing that some of you know about Home for our Troops!

They build some pretty stellar homes too. Not as cool as "Extreme Make Over Home Edition" but pretty damn close.http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer They did two locally here, one for a Blackhawk mechanic who lost both arms changing a tire on a helo when the tire blew out.

reading about these guys that are having houses built for them. Some are interesting stories, a pretty reoccuring theme tho is ied. That's such chicken sh*t, I mean I wouldn't mess with our warriors either but if you're gonna start something, be a man and face your enemy. They shouldn't be called terrorists, they should be called what they are, cowardists

It took them a while to figure out a couple things ...
1). they are terrible shots. They practiced something I liked to call "Inshallah aiming". Inshallah is "If Allah wills it", meaning if Allah wills it they will hit what they are supposed to. Somehow that never seems to work out for them.
2). Sandals, a scarf, and a man dress are no match for a well trained Military.
3). IED's are low tech and don't need to be that complex or well made to work.

I'm trying to get my daughters involved in something like this, so thanks for posting.

I need to show my girls what some give so we can have all that we do.
