  • Internet Explorer vs Firefox

I have had a tough few days trying to get back on the site and ragged on the Boss (Frank) way too much to be pleasant. Today I dumped Internet Explorer 8 and loaded Firefox and to my pleasant surprise all my troubles went away. If any one else out there running Internet Explorer has issues logging in cut to the race and kick it to the curb. Firefox is the way to go....
What are your thoughts...I am glad to be back as I was having the DT's not being able to log on with the HERD!!!!

I use both of them, as they each have positive and negative aspects. However, at work Fire Fox is the only browser I can use to log on with.

I used to be a big netscape fan.... Then whatever happened I quit downloading extra browsers and just kept Exploder up to date. So far no problems here or anywhere else......

They are both actually pretty good, IE 6 & 7 kind of sucked. However I have read many articles comparing all the latest browsers, Chrome, FF and IE8 and the top two are alwasy a toss up between IE8 and Fire fox. Like I said I use both for diffreent reasons and different situations.

I dumped Microsoft and went back to Apple after too many frustrating years. It was the best tech move I have made. I use Safari and Firefox on my Apple computers.

That's about all I use IE for myself. Rarely use IE and I've been that way for decades.

I've been using Firefox for a number of years as well and am pretty happy with it. The spell check feature is nice as is the ad blocker on some of the forums I go to.

I've had that AV virus before, couldn't get to any other website, than the one it wanted me to in IE...but I had free reign over the internet in Firefox.
It's not "derailed", as long as the last post relates to the post above it...it's just on a different rail, heading into a more interesting direction

I agree. I use Firefox at work all the time but have problems with it at home so IE is used there. I've got Chrome running also but I'm not sure about it. Supposed to be better handling multiple tabs as independent processes so it's faster.

The bug writers are on top of FF these days also. It became so popular that they now include it in their programming. FF was ahead of the game with features and of course bill gates had to come in and copy their advances so they are pretty even with features now a daze (IE 8).
But the more you can get away from MS the more safer you "might" be. Even tho I'm a MCSE with a few of MicroSoft platforms I still try and go with a browser that breaks the MS connection. Tried chrome a while back and forgot all about it. FF is good enough...
