A Limerick for the HERD

If we're ever lookin' for a HERD Poet Laureate I'd like to throw my name in the hat for consideration.

One day I came upon the HERD
As I read I hung on every word
Come on in; poke around
Be a techie or a clown
Jus' be careful; don't step on a turd!

From o'er the horizon
a rumble I did hear
getting steadily louder
as it did get near

What ever could make
this loud and thundering sound
getting ever louder
and rumbling cross the ground

I saw a sight of wonder
and then it became clear
it was time for HERDstock
and now the HERD was here!

we tossed our sticks into fire
soon it was time to retire

the HERD would rise early the next day
to rip the roads of kentuckys byway

later in day and into the night
we tossed logs in the fire, you know thats right

at midnight sharp, the HERD mounted their steeds
to bid the campers all, the HERDSTERS creed

And as Tiddy once said
We will be at HERDSTOCK with our sled
Swinging and chearing what we've done
while juggling down the beers like we are dumb!

On the state of Kentucky we will converge
the thunderous stamped of the HERD

The city of Paintsville will truly be blessed
with a visit from this nations best

Guys and Gals from across our lands
riding thru the creation of Gods hand

The friendships, stories and memories made
will stay with us all our days

and well into the future the story will be told
of all the bikers young and old

that rumbled into Kentucky that May
were damn glad that they didn't stay

I'm riding due south.
I'm bound to get,
some bugs in my mouth.

I'll travel far,
and I'll travel fast,
while sitting firmly on,
my chapless ass pants.

I'll meet some good folks,

So here's to next week,
an up coming meet,
I'm riding my bike,
while resting my feet.

My stuff is half packed,
