Got a derby cover that came off an 08 96TC/6spd that I am going to stripe and contribute for the auction @ HERDSTOCK.
I spent most of an hour using a 3M pad scuffing the #*&$ out of it. Cleaned it real good and put a healthy adhesive primer coat, followed by 4 coats of Textured Satin Black.
Now I am trying to figure which way I want to go as far as stripes. I have it narrowed down to two options.
1st option is an Old School white and red style simple stripes.
2nd option is a Maltese Cross stripe pattern in white and red.
So what do you recommend. I know I narrowed it down to certain bikes by painting it black. But I was really worried about the paint being on a chrome surface. Hopefully who ever gets this will mount it on a bike, and I wanted the paint to be somewhat durable.
