I lost one of my BEST friends this morning,Smokie died in my arms,I am glad she is out of pain from the bone cancer but I am gonna really miss the ol'bitch! I brought her home 15 years ago riding on my shoulder. She was just like me she would not mind or listen and everything had to be on Smokie time. She gave me unconditional love all her life. Thanks Dave for the talk yesterday it really helped.

Curtis! That has to be tough for you! Smokie did live a good life with you and Betsy! It's not easy to let something go knowing that it loved you no matter what. Just know that she is in a better place right now and she is still watching your shadow. Sorry Curtis!!! Hang tight for Smokie!

Curtis/Ruby - I'm so sorry to hear about Smokie! What a beautiful dog! I agree with what Chris says, often our four-legged family members are better friends/companions than their human counterparts. Ours are part of our family, as well. My prayers go out to you guys during this time. Smokie is in a better place, just waiting until she meets you again. I've no doubt she's watching over you.
