Dixie Carter died. She was born here in McLemoresville, where I live.
I never got to meet her, but I did get a smile when I pulled up at Walmart one evening and Hal Holbrook (her husband) was coming out. As I walked in I happened to turn and watch him because I noticed he sorta eyeballed my bike a little. I watched as he walked around my bike looking it over and then I just went inside to do what I came to do. On the way out, the lady that greets everyone said Hal came back and asked her to tell me I had a nice bike. I laughed and thought that was pretty cool, especially coming from an old feller like him that I never expected to think much about Harley's at all.
Anyway, RIP Miss Dixie and hang tough Hal, my best to the family.
