If you are unsure throw a box of baking soda in with the tools to draw any moisture.

I have alot of ammo cans filled with ammo and when buying I make sure the seals are good! I also save the little dessicant bags you get when you purchase an item and toss those in! You can purchase those little bags online also!! We get high humidity up here also and don't have a problem!!

Hey, the next time you're down here, remind me and I'll give you some o-ring silicone... or if y'can't wait, go to a pool supply and get a tube of "Magic Lube". Just rub that on your gasket and let it sink in... it'll never leak again!

If ya can keep it in the house with a/c that would be best. or in a small room like an outside water heater room (temp stays about the same) and run a dehumdifier for kicks.

Them ammo cans are supposed to be completely impenetrable but I keep a lot of tools in em like my chisels, router bits, etc., The ones that wind up going to jobsites a lot and rusty tools are a chronic issue in my arsenal.

Well the problem with using Ammo Cans it the fact that they are made to keep things " ONE TIME " the ammo is packed in a controlled dry environment then sealed in the can. Being a completely sealed system, or "impenetrable" humidity is easily formed inside the box once the seal is broke for the first time. If you as using it to store tools at a work site and have it open and its say 90 degrees and 90 % humidity, and seal the lid and throw it in your truck whats going to happen when the temp drops at night? condensation will eventually over time start taking its toll on stuff. In your case Tank, I would tape dessicant bags to the inside of the can lid if you are intent on using ammo cans.

Ya, the big issue around here is in the winter, folks trackin snow inside, it gets mad humid inside and we get up around sweathouse humid outside in the summer. For that reason, my high end tools never leave my "shop" (garage) because keeping things rust free here is like herding cats

Yeah,I was addressing the seal question only - the dew point in FL is a different think.

That's best demonstrated by how Croc has to wipe his glasses off when he comes to...
