You know.....I'd feel a lot better about this stuff if I knew it were moslty true. I get tired of hearing people bad mouthing the government and our troops, when they think nobody is listening. Not bashing you, Boss, but I watch this stuff and it seems "made up" to get business, pulling at the heartstrings of unsuspecting patrons, just to get their business.
I flew ***** Airlines (Rhymes with Smelta) the other month. The woman next to me was a modestly dressed Latina woman, who after about an hour into the flight, I finally got her to talk with me for a little. She was flying to Texas to a Military hospital to see her husband, probably for the last time, due to his injuries being so severe after being hit with an IED, and suffereing tremendous internal injuries and now fighting infection. The reason it was to be her last flight was because he wasn't expected to live.
She said she saw him 2 other times in the last 5 months, only because she couldn't afford to fly.....
If the airlines want to do something for our soldiers, and MEAN IT, then cut the families a break on airfare that need to visit wounded soldiers. I'd gladly pay a little more, if families of soldiers could see their injured loved ones at a discounted rate.
Rant off..... Sorry.**Note: The technical info I provide is suggestive. I am not a perfeshunel.

I did feel the exact same way - The thought of having another organization trying to CAPITALIZE on the military opportunity...And I almost did not post it. But I did, because I felt that this is the way it should be. If they are genuine and try to give back somehow, good for them.
If they don't....They will have to live with it somehow. I guarantee that most of the employed pilots served our Country and some might have their own son and/or daughter serving right now..

You can do something! Donate to the USO. Each service has organizations to provide help to the serviceman and their family's. The Air Force Aid bought a ticket for Linda to travel to the states when her brother passed away.

AA was the carrier, and my tickets were all booked by the Military.....When I finally managed to get a flight back to Salt Lake, they wouldnt honor my ticket that was pre-paid....I ended up buying a one way ticket to SLC for $ 360.00 just to get home, and they had the nerve to not even offer a military discount to me.....I've been a service member for 18 plus years.....
The airlines are in it for the money, and regardless of the commercial advertising that they pull, I'm with Dave, they dont give a rats Azz.........U.S. Army "Retired"

Yup just another corporate smoke screen to make you think they care when all they care about is fooling the people into believing they give a rats ass so you will use them instead of another company.HERD Member #114
