  • Riding boots

While at Laconia I picked up a real nice pair of riding boots for my wife. It dawned on me that I been wearing the typical shat kickers and that made for motorycle riding boots make sense. The soles are thicker and the leather looks a little more durable then my typical shat kickers.

Harley makes real nice boots but they are coverd with the harley logo is big chrome gaudy ways. What company sells nice motorcycle boots sans the gaudy HD logo. Don't get me wrong if I have to wear nice boot with the HD logo I would, I'd rather not. I already have a lether coat splattered all over the place with the Harley Davidson logo.

What boots do you guys ride/wear?

I wear Harley boots also. But, I also have my old pair of lizard skin boots that I had resoled with rubber soles. Much better for the small pebbles in parking lots than slick leather soles.

I just wear a pair of Justin lace up ropers. Kind of a western boot but it's comfortable and light to wear. And IMO you can't beat a nice scuffed up pair of cowboy boots....

I would wear my lace ups but the bottom are still leather and I'm to clumbsy and will slip! I also wear the HD kind but there is a place called Academy (Sports Store - maybe a local Texas Store) and you can buy Harley Logo'd boots there cheaper than the dealer.

See ya bad! Have a good evening. I wear the Harley zip up the side boots. I'm lazy and don't want to lace them up each time.

Check out the Milwaukee boot web site. Real happy with my zip ups with laces on the front.

I wear the lace up Justin boots as well; the ones with the rubber soles. Great traction and comfortable. They are not good in the rain though!

For inclement weather I prefer Red Wings. Keep 'em oiled and they will turn water for hours.

I think vibram soles works the best thats the most important thing to me, road grip in bad situations some rubber soles is just slippery as hell

I have a pair of Harley Riddicks that I really like but I wear my SIDI Canyons most often. They are comfortable, water proof and have armor in the toes, heels, ankle and on the shin.

I wear a Red Wing boot. I have heard they discontinued the model, but they look like a typical pull on motorcycle boot. The most comfortable footwear I own. I wear them all year long, riding or not.

Haven't polished any boots since I left the Air Force in 1970!

Actually, when wife and I go on longer rides I wear boots. We are 'doing Rt. 66 in August from end to end. Meeting some friends from another board in Hannibal Mo.

Well, I have to admit that I don't wear my boots that often. And I've never had a very good pair. Most of the time I've just worn "over the ankle" hiking boots. But I do have a pair of real motorcycle boots -- Icon SuperDuty Boots. They only cost about $100 and they are just "over the ankle". I know it's a stupid reason, but I usually only wear them when I go on longer rides. I know, I know, most accidents happen close to home.

It is slooooooooooooooooooow at work and no extra paperwork. Its so weird here its either feast or famine.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have perused all the mentioned web sites. I like the idea of the laced zippered deal. I am fat and bending down is a PITA. I don't see myself losing weight anytime soon either, I mean why, whats the point?

I like some of what harley has, also looked at the milwaukee boot sight...very nice selection there.

                                        Again thanks.
