  • WITH OUT

On may 15th I did one of the dumbest things of my life. I let a 20 year old kid ride my bike. He went less than one block and almost $9000 in damage. Now I am hopefully with in two weeks of getting it back. My question is has anyone been in this situation and what did you do to fill the void. I know that right now my tins are in good hands but the rest of my bike is at wabash hd in terre hautte and I am not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling with the job they are doing.

Wow! I'm sure it was a tough decision of letting a 20 year old ride my bike. It had to be someone really close. I learned a long time ago (when I was 18) to not allow anyone ride any of my bikes or my car if I could prevent it.

The fact that you don't have the warm fuzzy feelings of a job well done is a double whammy. Sorry Bigun! Doesn't sound good right now.

Well my bike has been there since may 20th I just got my last primed part to take to Ironhead for paint last friday and I told them when I took it in something was wrong with the tranny and still haven't looked at that. I don't know how much more money the insurance is willing to put out

Well, if you don't trust TH HD, take it down I70 to Indy West in Plainfield. That would be quite a distance for you to travel though.

sorry to hear it. Nighty rode my bike once, 20 feet into the garage out of the rain cause I was elsewhere drinkin. That's it, no one else ever has or will ride it for that reason, I'd be too afraid they'd dump it

Did the little bastard have insurance??? Is he making payments every month to cover the cost????

Did you carve a pound of flesh from his slowly rotting body to help ease your pain?

                                WTF??

How would some kid cause thousands of dollars in damage and not get his head knocked off........????

you know, I helped pick Bigun's bike up off the side of the road after this happened. Trust me, he could have stepped on the kid and squashed him, but he kept his cool. I was duely impressed.
if it were my bike doing a tripple summersalt down the highway....well, lets just say the coroner would have had to be called

but on the positive note (if one) the bike will be fixed, and noone got hurt badly, just a couple bumps and bruises.
and I don't mean to jump into Danny's thread and tell all the story, but the kid did actually make good on his word and paid the insurance deductable

I see, I still would have killed him......

I know I don't know the details, but why let him ride it? Why isn't the kid paying the whole amount? Why is Danny using his own insurance to pay it.......... Now he'll face higher premiums, - the kid causes a schitt load - (can I say schitt load?) of damage, and it only cost him a deductible??

Why am I so pissed off this morning? Could be this headache that I woke up with, and I'm sure it'll turn into a migraine before noon......
