  • Harley Ride Planner sync to GPS

Plotted out my ride with the Harley on line planner, synced to my Garmin 2720 and the waypoints are there. Was running a simulated run on it and it says go North 15 miles then Northeast 95 miles to waypoint 2. WTF! Where are the roads I picked and plotted? It draws a straight line from point A to point B.
I will take the printed out turn by turn directions when we leave Saturday but I really thought it would all be there.
Anybody have any experience with this?
    Thanks in advance.

I think CLL does something similar as he also downloads them to his GPS. He may have some information for you once he see's this thread.

Man I hope so..very frustrating to say the least. I entered the stops and it plots the course which is fine but we wanted different roads. Easy just grab the line and move it, it recalculates the info and you golden. Save and transfer and only the stops and waypoints are there. I can use my Mapsource program on my laptop but you can't grab and redraw, just choose shortest distance or fastest route.

Ok, found out that the Ride Planner only has full support for the higher end Harley Garmin units. I was able to re plot the trip on my laptop thru my mapsource program. Unfortunately the routes won't tranfer over to my two friend gps's because they both have nuvi's and you can't do route planing with them.
I got everything printed out for everybody anyhow...
            C'mon Saturday!!!!!

Yea Kinda why Iwent with the More expensive Garmin it was temptin to go cheaper and there was alotta stuff I didnt ever plan on usin Like the bluetooths. Ended up usin that and it works real good. Mostly I swung for the high end cause the Map files and stuff just read out better on the tech/spec sheet than the simpler ones.
