  • Cheap strikes again.....(IT question)

OK, I have three printers at home and they need ink. They're Epson printers and work just fine. If I buy ink (two black and one of each color) for one printer the ink cost about $85. I can go buy a whole new printer for $50 which includes ink. I don't need anything that fancy at home and from what I read the $50 printer (an HP) does a decent job.

Why should I spend the money to buy ink when I can buy a whole new printer each time? What am I missing?

(I know I'm thinking like a woman when I talk about how much money I can save when I'm actually talking about spending either $150 for three printers or $255 for ink.)

Ink that comes with printers is of very low quantity....but if you're getting printers at 50 buck a pop, then it does make more sense to just buy printers and use up the sample ink....you could alway buy a printer that uses the same ink as the ones at your work...just sayin, if you know what I'm sayin'
It's not "derailed", as long as the last post relates to the post above it...it's just on a different rail, heading into a more interesting direction

Without going into gory detail, I understand your dilemma. I need to print B&W docs a lot and my HP color is constantly saying one or another color cartridge is empty even tho I never use them, and refuses to print in just B&W, saying it may damage the printer. BS. I bought a Brother LASER B&W printer that came with a 1000 page cartridge for $85, and a spare 2600 page cart for $46. If you aren't wanting to print color photos, I highly recommend this.

Um excuse me??? Ha, anyway, so you have a place that sells refill ink cartridges, that's what I use, inexpensive and I've never had any problems..

Problem is I own the company so either way I'm out the money. We just print emails and stuff like that at home so we don't need anything that special. One of the printers at home is a "All-In-One" so I'll probably keep that and replace the others.

i just buy a new printer, i find them at "big lots" store for 40$ sometimes. i don't need to print quality photos or such. just directions and b/w forms. i have 2 printer/scanners here now i wouldn't mind unloading. i just replaced the black ink in the cannon. don't know what the other is. i use a brothers now. i like it it seems to have the cheapest ink. i get it from the net and buy a lot of black.
