  • A Tribute to the Mason Family!

I was lurking around the forum doing maintenance and checking things out. Activity levels are way down but the memories are at the highest point. I watched several of the videos but this one really got to me! Watching everyone together with Jeff (wndchsr), Michelle and his family really made me choke up to a point where I haven't been in a very long while!

Enjoy the memories folks! Here is to Jeff Mason!!!

That was a great time down south! Miss those phone calls from Jeff.......we'd talk for over an hour.......I remember Jeff, Michelle and I were riding across North Dakota......he had purchased a new rainsuit but didn't have the room for it so he asked me to put it on my bike. Going down the interstate my straps came loose and that rainsuit along with other items were strewn on the interstate. I stopped and started walking back to find that rainsuit. Tried waving them down but they didn't see me and they kept going east. Eventually they noticed I wasn't there and they turned around and came back. I had the rainsuit in hand when they pulled up on the shoulder. Jeff asked me WTH I was doing. Told him straps came loose and his rainsuit was on the interstate so had stopped to get it because I'm sure he'd kick my butt if I didn't! LOL He and Michelle started laughing about it! Apologized to Michelle because her cajun trail mix was all over the interstate and I wasn't picking it up! LOL

          Yeah, good times.

I'll tell you....it was tough watching videos last night. This is something I do from time to time but this one got me good. I'll always treasure and value the stuff we all did together. And without going softy on y'all, it will remain in my heart until the day my mind is completely gone!

Those were good times for sure. Really enjoyed that one and the others I could make. Sucks life keeps getting in the way of riding for me. Barely need to change my oil anymore.

I actually thought I'd be riding more in my "later years" but it's not worked out that way. My company was acquired April 1 and now I'm just a cog in the wheel with a big fucking chain connecting me to my desk and computer. Going to serve my time until I can retire I guess but miss my freedom. Still enjoy dropping in every once in a while to see what you guys are all doing.

I don't think many of us are riding like we used too, I'm sure not. Not for lack of desire but time. Work, grand kids, taking care of in-laws who are up in age. This past year we did not hit any car shows, church picnics, fairs, but for one we made it too. I thought things got slower and time was plenty full when I got older.
