The David James Memorial was a blast. I had more fun there then I can ever recall at any event, ever. I met some of the nicest people and felt honored to be included in their company. I truley felt at home and will remember it for the rest of my life.
The ride through the Kentucky backroads was stunning. The scenery was beautiful and I had the greatest riding partner to go with me!! All I had to do was ask, and a piece of chewing gum appeared in front of me!!
It was a time to remember. At the dinner saturday night, I got a little choked up, when Brian put a picture of his brother, David, on the table, and told us a little about him, from his point of view. Brian talked about his brother, and spoke of him in a proud voice, bragging about his accomplishments and telling us of the man he was and will be remembered as. He is terribly missed. I'd be a better man had I had the honer of meeting him.
From the moment I got there, Dixie stunned me with his generosity. He treated me as if he knew me all his life. If this world had more people like him and his family, we'd be better off.
I was sad to leave. It went so quick.
In closing, I'd also like to thank Jeff Irvin, his wife and "Cloe" for following us in the chase vehicle, ready to scoop up any unsuspecting bike with mechanical issues and keeping our backs safe during the ride. It was a comfort knowing they were there.
See you guys and gals at the next one.........
