  • I saw a "SCAGGER" !!

So I'm cruisin down the road on the harley at about noon, and see another two wheeled machine headed my way. As I get ready to pass by, I had to take another hard look at what I thought was a small honda or something.

Then I realized it was a wierd looking scooter, that looked like a bagger !

Yup, a "SCAGGER"...(at least thats what i'm calling it)...I about crashed while I was trying to contain my laughter...
Now I dont look down on others, and I dont really care what people ride. Jap or otherwise, but what the heck was I looking at ??

It had a front nacell, windshield, two up seat, backrest, side hard bags, floor boards, and about every extra I could imagine, and to top it off, about 12" tires and wheels......:)

I'm gonna .....:watching.....really close, and If I see another one, I'll snap a picture of it.

It almost looked like a vespa large body machine...The rider was even in leathers.....erbox

Looks like a whole new breed of scooter is out.....Ride safe "scagger" dude....I need a beer.....g

Yeah man, they look funny as hell but get 100 MPG they are all over the place down here, hell 15 years ago I had something like it, it was fun to ride on DRY ROADS!!! It would do 65 but on wet roads it was a nightmare! I could ride to work for a month on a tank of gas, 5 gal tank!

That's funny. A friend of mine said her husband has a group of friends who go out and ride their scooters on the weekend. And she wasn't kidding. They ride scooters..... Kinda like a roving band of scooter bandits... :jbone:wtf

Next thing you know they'll be startin Scagger Gangs! They make something that has two wheels in the front that tilt at over a certain speed to accommodate turning. I saw a lady in her 70s starting to test ride one. I forget what it is called, started with a "P" I think. - I got the hell outta the shop! It was a Harley shop in Tucson no less!

Rain, that sounds like a Can-Am Spyder. They are actually kinda cool, pricey also.

Superhog, it was something much smaller and the front wheels were only a few inches apart. I'm familiar with the Can-Am Spyder; it is cool. I'll be ridin' to Sturgis in August with my buddy, an engineer at work, who rides one.

The Can Am is a fine piece of engineering....I respect the guys that pulled that one off.....As a Cad engineer myself, I appreciate the 100's of hours that go into the design and testing of such a radical concept....And they pulled it off well IMHO.....

Well, if it's not an old tractor with a tricycle front end, doesn't ring any bells. I'll look forward to hearing about how the Spyder does on a trip like that, and how it performs on Needles highway and the Pigtail and some of the other roads out there. If I ever looked at something besides HD, that would probably be it.
