  • Hello from Maryland

Hello, new-"ish" to the HD field, my Dad always had a HD growing up, but this past fall I was finally able to join the big boy club and get my hands on one of my own and finally stop putting around on a little Vstar 650! (I was the only non harley in the groups of guys i ride with so I'm sure you can imagine the jokes lol). I purchased a 2000 Heritage softail with 55k on it.

        Welcome TJ, from eastern Montana.
That's a real nice motorcicle You got there. If possible, please post us up a couple of pics of it.
many years ago, I was on the receiving end of many of those compliments of what I was riding.
I learned from that though, I never put down what someone is riding, You just never know when things will change for them.

First, to the OP, welcome to the Herd.

Second, I’ve ridden a sportster for many years and got plenty of those “compliments” as well. Never really cared much. All of us face the same dangers and enjoy the same thrills.
That Heritage will be a smooth ride, ENJOY!

You got a 19 year old Harley....how frigg'nn cool is that? Very cool! Get yourself a good repair manual and be sure to make friends with, take treats and coffee to, your local indy. He'll show ya how to care for that sweet ride. My nephew has a '95 Fat Boy he inherited from his Dad (RIP Barry, taken by Vietnam and Agent Orange). The bike is black and yellow, I call him the killer bee, 'cause he has a big stinger...And I been looking at a '95 Springer in great shape with only 14K on her.

            Post up them pis TJ!

                        Hi, TJ!

                        Welcome, welcome!

Love that Heritage, man. There's a reason for the sheer volume of those bikes that are around... I'm thinking that bike was H-D's sales leader for a decade or so!

So! You bought a 19 year old Harley. Well, recently, I sold my 2000 Harley Dyna... and stepped WAY up and bought a 2001 Dyna!

                        Long live the Twincam.

                        Welcome!
